Tutor & Care With Essie
A secure business marketing website and React-native mobile application for facilitate provider and client matching, communications and scheduling.
This is an ongoing project I am developing for my counsin's startup: Tutor & Care With Essie.
- Website is purely UI with no backend.
- Mobile app is React-native with a cloud hosted PostgresSQL database.
When the mobile app is live, I will post and link it here. For now, I'll discuss the intention and purpose. Essence (founder) started in babysitting, then advanced childcare, then tutoring, and now teaching. Between direct experiences, communication skills and organization, Essie has established an LLC in teh state of New York for finding families reliable sitters and students qualified tutors. She has been facilitating the entire business with no centralized software. Needless to say, I saw an opportunity to advance my secure software development skills.
The first goal was a marketing website. Done. Now I am focused on developing the mobile app to provide the business with an effective tool for faclitating provider, client, and administrative needs. The app should be out by mid to late May 2026.
From there, we will be exploring gamified education. This is also something I am passionate about because K-12 in the U.S. is seriously lacking to say the least. We want children to prosper in all ways and have found a not-so-niche way to improve the exisitng system.
